Back from Siena and straight up north for my show at Lazarides Newcastle, my first time showing exclusively abstract work.
Said the Hero to the Thief refers to a conversation between two opposing forces, with each painting appearing as snippets of dialogue. Heroes and thieves are social types at opposite ends of the spectrum and I gave them all latin titles to heighten that idea of heroism and Godliness. The Thief refers to society’s attitude to graffiti.
