yeah they always have. Irish landscape painting is such a strong force in our art and the land plays a major role in the Irish psyche. Its funny as rural landscapes are about as far removed from my choice of imagery, maybe thats what interests me. I’ve always liked the idea of isolating myself up a mountain and painting for a year. But I like cities too much.
